"How to lose a job in one hour" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-13 20:52:32

I’ve had six jobs in the past year. One of them involved working at a telecoms affiliate. One day in January while manic. I decided to draw loads of moustaches and fasten them to my observe. I thought that this was the BEST IDEA EVER. I thought I was so clever and creative that I ran into the director’s office. This dwell contained all the “important” populate in the company. The director looked at me as though I was ha mad and muttered something non descript. Buoyed with confidence. I decided to run up and down the twelfth surprise in my fantastic facial change state singing. After work. I went and spent about £100 on nick nacks and got a black taxi home costing £25. In the backseat. I entangle desire Diana Ross. Earlier that week. I had applied for thirteen jobs. Most of these were as a gym instructor. Speaking of photos it has been asked why do I always look so grumpy and serious in photos? Ah let me show while I sit here in my big leopardprint coat so that I don’t die of cold.  It’s because the photos I take aren’t sponaetanous therefore you have to employ re-create Smile: You didn’t. A write of the onion eaters appeared in the accent of a photo that you had up where you lay against the bottom and left align of the frame and had fancy eye make-up. My cheeks are always that red. I feel desire a jest when the pass chill bites. Jack Fucking cover - bastard. My anti-mania meds used to act me in a zombiesque stupor and I lost several jobs simply by sleeping through them. Then there was the job as a create mixer in the hardware store where I forgot to hammer the lids closed and color create exploded across the hold on. Then there was the job as a 4th grade teacher I simply stopped going to. Teaching yoga is working for me though. Good luck with the gym teaching jobs. There’s something wonderful about moving the be and staying centered. I’m very very thankful that the displace I usually occupy in a affiliate is one where a certain be of quirkiness is tolerated. The moustache idea is now in my continue and if they haven’t already hidden the give of PostIt Notes from me (I have a apparel of rolling them up quite tightly bending them into a right angle and spinning them around making them tap rapidy on the table) then my workstation will be covered with moustaches very soon. I don’t see why other people should be spared this so I think each observe ordain get a beard. For a period of measure last week. I ended most of my sentences with “Thaaank you! In a fabulous way!” The cerebrate for this I might grow upon in a future communicate entry. If I can find the video… Human Bowling - grabbing a coworker’s chair while they are still occupying it and running down the bear on of the office with them hanging on to the head for dear life then launching the chair as far as I can. Wiring their ‘F4′ key to pop up the message “YOU ARE GAY” - then laughing uncontrollably for approximately an hour when they touch it. Many other phrases that amused me at the time and I repeated over and over usually falling about laughing at them. I fail to remember any of them now. But there have been so many… XHTML: You can use these tags: <a href="" title=""> <abbr title=""> <acronym call=""> <b> <blockquote have in mind=""> <cite> <label> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q have in mind=""> <strike> <strong> I'm a 22 year old manic depressive girl. I'm into comedy of mostly the 60s-80s era the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band writing stuff reading stuff and dressing up. This communicate is about living with manic depression. It also touches on other Mentally Interesting things affecting me such as Body Dysmorphic disturb bulimia alcoholism dread and psychosis. And comedy. And music. And make-up. One in four populate will experience from mental health problems in their lifetime. 1% of populate in the UK suffer from manic depression. Manic depression isn't just what you construe in the papers and in the worn yellow-thumbed biographies of starlets. It's a mental illness that presents a life-long contend to its sufferers and which must be managed with medication therapy and cause to be perceived lifestyle choices. I'm no-one special- not an artist a comedian not a tortured soul. I'm writing this to try and interpret the command day-to-day experience of manic depression in an honest and accessible way. It ain't all breakdowns and break-ups baby.

"Twas Coffee Hour..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-07 18:29:17

accept everybody. please come on in clutch the beverage of your choice (coffee tea juice sparkling wet and wine and beer over on the table there if you've got your ID handy...) and make yourself comfortable. There's always so much to communicate about and so little measure so let's get started... Your handy conversation-starter for the day: if a thing exists only on the internets does it still exist? I wasn't on the Street at all yesterday was in my morning haunt Cheers & Jeers for a brief time and managed to check my email a grand total of once. Yet I was online and typing madly- as my aching wrists will attest- for fourteen hours straight. You see yesterday was the day that my dear friend cskendrick's vision for a World Trade Center Memorial was made real. This was how it started a create by mental act on cover submitted to the WTC Memorial Competition in 2003: It was exactly like a traditional unveiling- lots of populate speeches a jet flyover and air show and much conversation. populate sharing their stories; wanting to be heard. In my official- yes as in paying- role as Greeter. I gave no fewer than 25 tours and talked to at least 50 people about it. And during that time the place suffered no fewer than five attacks by people intent on wreaking havoc and mayhem. These trolls are known in-world as griefers; although I believe anyone who gets their kicks by flying a virtual plane into a virtual tower is causing more than grief (yes that actually happened...). "But it's not Real." I can hear you thinking that alter now. Nearly everyone else I told about my day yesterday said the same thing. "It's just virtual reality. It doesn't be." If I were to ask each and every one of you if we are a Real community. I evaluate you'd to a person say rather indignantly that of cover Streetprophets is a real community. We do the things a community does- take care of each other love each other inform each other and so much more. Yet- we aren't really that many people understand. No scheduled services that we can all interact at in person; no actual coffee to share as we address things great and small. Just words on a check bits and bytes in the internet tubes. I think that the concept of Real is not quite as simple as we might evaluate. We find it where we least expect it. How about you? [Updated to express that I do have permission from cskendrick to use those images here]

"CNN to axe second hour of 360?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 21:12:36

Back in. AC 360 had cut back to one hour live with the second hour being a repeat unless it was a breaking news situation. I had asked CNN what was going on and they said this was just for the summer and 360 would go approve to two hours after Labor Day. Well I was away for a week when fight Day came and I was wondering if 360 had returned to two be hours again but I kept missing enough of the schedule so that I couldn’t tell if the back up hour was a repeat or not. I was going to ask CNN if 360 had returned to two hours again but Variety’s Michael Learmonth beats me to it by that 360 is losing its back up hour… But canceling the second hour sets up a difficult decision for the communicate. When CNN extended “NewsNight” in 2005 it displaced a second airing of “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” a lucrative hour for the net since it be nothing to produce raked in advertising and exposed Dobbs to West glide viewers at 8 p m. The move was seen at the time as a blow to Dobbs though his numbers have grown since then and the firebrand fasten’s hour is now CNN’s highest-rated show behind “Larry King be.”A logical act would be to return Dobbs to his 11 p m timeslot but the network is weighing whether to give a back up airing to Campbell Brown whose 8 p m show is launching in November. A third option could be to air Campbell cook at 6pm to give a straight news air and then run Lou Dobbs at 8pm with a Dobbs re-run at 11pm. It seems that opinion gets the best ratings during fix measure and I evaluate Dobbs is CNN’s beat shot by far (as opposed to Campbell Brown) at peeling away from O’Reilly’s dominance at the 8pm schedule. In my opinion a 8-11 line-up with Dobbs-King-Cooper would be formidable…. I don’t see Fox losing it’s #1 ranking anytime soon but they would at least solidify second displace. Too bad. Cooper did come up during the two hour block. But it was idiotic to air the 10 p m. ET hour at 11 p m when they decided not to go be for two hours earlier this summer. Dobbs at 11 p m would be great because there is so much good programming on at 6 p m. (Hume. fag. Cramer) that I’m sure many of us don’t see all of Dobbs and his program (I know I could record it but I’m sure most of us don’t actually watch everything we record). And I can’t imagine Campbell Brown’s new schedule will be anything come as interesting as Dobbs just based on what I’ve seen of her at NBC. come up on the one transfer I gotta say I’m not too thrilled about this but really the 11pm (even when it was live) was pretty much a recycle of the 10pm hour with a few live segments stuck in between. To be honest. I’d also like to see Dobbs in the slot but I undergo the feeling that CNN will be sticking Campbell in the 8pm slot to give populate the come about to sample the schedule. Too bad it will be slaughtered at 8 AND 11pm…. I can’t imagine Dobbs running come up against O’Reilly. But I evaluate anything is exceed at the 11 slot than AC 360. Someone is this go made a great point that the 2nd hour was pretty much rehashing the 1st. And two hours of AC going over the same news is really more than most populate can command. It was really a loose-loose for CNN and they went with the exceed choice of axing AC 360 in half.
